Tuition:
Tuition for one month of lessons is $100.00. Tuition for students farther than ten mins drive is $120.00. Lessons are weekly half hour sessions. Contact me if you would like a quote for lessons longer than half hour.
Resources included in your tuition:
1. Our fun and educational website (www.newsongmusicstudios.com),
which is designed to keep you informed and to nurture in your child
the joy of making music—not just on lesson day but every day!
2. Periodic newsletters emailed to you, featuring creative musical activities
and resources for your budding musician.
3. Weekly blog posts featuring ideas and games you can use at home.
4. A growing cache of original music games and activities that our teachers
can use with your child to make learning fun and effective. (See our music for little learners kit)
Payments are due by the first of each month (unless you pay quarterly). Payment received after the fourth of the month will be considered late and will incur a $15 late fee. Also, out of consideration for our teachers, if tuition is not received by the 15th of the month, lessons will be suspended until tuition (plus the late fee) is received.
Teacher Cancellations:
New Song Music offers substitute teachers. This is a wonderfully unique aspect of our studio. Substitutes are trained and ready to come should your teacher fall ill or take unexpected time off. If your teacher cancels a lesson due to illness and no substitute is available you will be credited the full amount of the lost lesson to the next month's tuition.
You may ask to be introduced to our substitues in advance. This would involve having a substitute tag along with your regular teacher for part of a lesson. There is no additional fee for this service. You may then request that substitue in the future.
Student Cancellations:
If a student cancels within 24 hours of their lesson then they are eligible for a make-up lesson. In this case, there will be an additional 5.00 charge for any make-up lesson that requires a substitute teacher to come out. Therefore, It is in the best interest of the student to comply with the make up times that the original teacher offers. Lessons must be made up within 2 weeks of the original cancellation.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are made up only at the teachers discretion. Teachers are not required to make up lessons with less than 24 hours notice. Please understand that make-ups interfere with the family life and time of our teachers, so use them sparingly. Student's who habitually cancel will be asked to reconsider their enrollment.
Holiday Schedule:
Because we work on a 48 week schedule there are four weeks during the year that students will not have lessons. Here are the holiday weeks for the 2012-2013 year. November 19-23, December 24-31, January 1-4, March 25-29
Summer: If you need flexibility we have two options to suit your summer schedules.
#1 Group Lessons: These are held once a month. The two hour time slot is equivalent to your month of lessons. You may choose Group Lessons for one month or all of the summer months.
#2 One hour private lessons. You teacher will set up two times during the month for a one hour lesson.
Though taking the summer off is discouraged you may reserve your students fall time and day by paying for September's tuition in full.
Recitals
New Song holds two themed recitals per year. Our recitals are unlike any other studio. Go to our photo album to view previous recitals. Tickets sales will be announced six weeks before each recital. Students do not require a ticket. You can expect ticket prices to vary betwen $5.00 per person and $10.00 per person depending on our venue. Again, please go to our recital page for more information.
